Research is about what other people have done to solve the problem that you have chosen.  Research is about not trying to "re-invent the wheel".  That is an expression which is suggesting that you shouldn't invent something which has already been done very well.  Research is about finding out what people think your project should achieve.  Research is about checking out the best materials.  Research is about ..........    There are very many aspects to research, there are a few below.  You need to add some more that refer to your project.  Make a list or do a Spider Diagram.

You should do 4 or 5 different types of research and you must certainly carry out a survey, as this will give you the opportunity to demonstrate to the examiner  your ability to analyse and present the results.
