Describe what you are
going to design, make, test and evaluate........
Looking at what others have done, materials to use, availability,
time........
This
is an "it
must" list, talk about all of the things you want your article
to do and be.......
A
collection of varying ideas, each to solve your design problem
in a different way ......
Evaluate your ideas and give reasons why you have rejected most and
chosen one.......
Take
your chosen idea and look at its making in every detail and try to
improve it....
Bring together all of your research and improvements in one
detailed set of drawings..
Orthographic
projection, showing Elevations,
detailing size, material, finish.....
Your
plan should include order of making, tools required, cutting list, time.........
Photographs showing stages of making and written statements, also
record changes of design......
Once finished record the results of genuine tests. Do the drawers work? Do
the CD's fit?.....
Check the product
against the Specification, is it what you intended to make? Does it
work?.......
An important area not to be missed, bar charts ,graphs,
desktop publishing, C.A.D. and C.A.M..........
